Summer Tour

Hey people.  I hope you’re well.  As you know, we’re in the middle of our summer tour, which will be coming soon (or has already come) to a city near you.  This is my biggest and best tour yet, and I’m having a blast.  Thanks to everyone who has come out to support us.  It’s been a great success so far.

Special thanks to our guests India.Arie & Vaughn Anthony.

This Thursday marks a milestone in my career.  I’m headlining at the legendary Madison Square Garden Arena in New York for the first time in my career.  I moved to New York almost a decade ago with dreams of making it big, and it’s a huge thrill to be able to play in such a storied venue in my adopted hometown.

Whether you’re seeing us in New York or anywhere else on the tour, I promise it will be a night to remember.  I look forward to seeing you.

Peace & Love,

John

Michael Jackson will always be remembered as one of the greatest performers in the history of popular music.  As a child of the 80’s, I feel as though his music and his videos have been an inseparable part of my life and that of an entire generation.  And the powerful thing about great music is that it will always live on.  He was and always will be an icon.  My heart goes out to his family, friends and countless fans for their tragic loss.

Watch me tonight on Late Show with David Letterman! I’ll be performing with MSTRKRFT.

John Legend and Reverb are excited to be working together to “green up” this summer’s tour and engage fans to join in. Please check out the site, learn what we are doing to be more green, sign up to carpool to the show and win a meet & greet with John Legend!

Greening actions on this tour include:

Carbon-Neutral concerts - offsetting CO2
emissions from venue energy use, busses and trucks, flights and hotel accomodations by supporting renewable energy projects.
Extensive backstage waste reduction and recycling program
Biodegradable and compostable catering products
Reusable water bottles for band and crew
Non-Toxic and eco-friendly cleaning supplies used on tour busses

First of all, let me apologize for not blogging in so long.  I got so
caught up in my Twitter account that I was forgetting to do the longer
blogs for JL.com.  I won’t let it happen again!  But you should still
follow me on twitter to get my random musings real-time.

I’m writing from Mexico City.  Buenos Dias!  Last night I did a
special performance at Lunario.  The proceeds went to benefit the
children at Casa de la Amistad, a home for children suffering from
cancer.  It was a lovely night and we ended it with a duet with Noel,
who is a star singer/pianist based in Mexico.  We wrote a song
together called “No Importa” which will be featured on his debut solo
album (he was formerly in a group called Sin Banderas).

While in Mexico City, I also got to taste some authentic Mexican
cuisine and had a cooking class with celebrity chef Patricia Quintana.
That was so delicious.  She’s sending me the recipe.  Hopefully I can
replicate it at home.  Probably won’t be perfect, but I’ll try.

Tonight I return to New York, where I’ll continue preparing for the
summer tour which starts in 17 days in Michigan.  I’m very excited to
see you on the tour.  This will be the biggest tour of my career and
hopefully the best.

See you soon!
John
